The Storm - during and after!
In the afternoon, all sunshine, blue skies and calm water was lost to a sudden storm which came in from the north. Boaters were caught by surprise as thunder and lightening brought rain and wind.
Once the storm was done, blue skies resumed and a rainbow blessed the skies over Manchaug Pond.

A Sacred Sunday Sunset!
While other areas suffered thunderstorms, no rain fell on Manchaug Pond making for a beautiful Sunday on the lake. A fishing tournament started the day, but it was the campers that later came out in droves to boat Manchaug Pond.

The Evening's Sunset
We haven't had time to post an update on the success of our recent efforts: the Rockin'Spring Fling fundraiser, the launch of the next one - the BIG Boat Raffle/$10,000 Giveaway, the 319 stormwater grant's completion and the next grant applications, meetings and conversations to enhance and preserve our natural resources, etc ...
... but we are working hard, making great progress and love this lake noted for beautiful sunrises, tremendously fun days and classic sunsets!
Enjoy! and thank you to each and everyone of you who has sent their tax deductible dues and donations, bought a ticket or two, donated a raffle item or given us a pat on the back for our perseverance and dedication in working for Manchaug Pond.

Hearts Abound on Manchaug Pond!
The morning sky is ablaze with reds, orange and pink on this St. Valentine's Day!
One of our members/photographers sent in the following for your enjoyment today. On Saturday she wrote:
"Went for a walk in my snow shoes today looking for heart shaped anythings for Valentines Day.
Do you see any hearts? I did not do anything to the photos... I think maybe I got lucky on the last one..."
P.S. Our FUNdrai$ing Committee is meeting next week. If you have any ideas, please just comment below, or if would like to join in on the planning of the events and activities please email the secretary so she can give your name and phone number to the committee chairman.
A calendar highlighting the many photos presented on this blog has been suggested. What do you think? Would you buy one to support the Manchaug Pond Foundation's work to preserve the lake?

New Year's fog just a distant memory
As another snowstorm envelops us here on Manchaug Pond, it is facinating to look at these photos taken less than a month ago on New Year's weekend by a long time MPA member and lake resident!
Thank you for sending these in! Keep them coming.
