The state Office of Fishing and Boating Access has set limitations to parking in state public access boat ramps.
Here are the numbers for our Manchaug Pond:
Total Trailer Spaces: 28
Maximum July 1 through August 31: 14
Maximum September 1 through June 30: 22

Why?
ReplyDeleteDick, I didn't hear anything about it until it appeared on their website. My thought is the limitations are directed to those taking out permits for club events such as kayak/canoe and fishing groups. This would leave more spaces open for other boaters.
ReplyDeleteManchaug Pond can be a very popular place, especially on the weekend. A check of the state event schedule at http://www.mass.gov/dfwele/pab/pab_schedevents.htm
shows permit/reservations for just about every Saturday and Sunday from April through October.
But 14 spaces sure isn't many for a club event.
Big Brother got too much time on his hands!
