With no worry of Hurricane Bob coming anywhere near Manchaug Pond, the dam caretaker should close the gate and restore the level to the 1930 rule curve.
As the dam owner states in Thursday's emergency request to Sutton Conservation Commission and MassDEP: "Once the impact of the hurricane has been abated, MRC will attempt to restore water levels to levels contained in the UAO-CE-0906W002 by closing the low level outlet gate and reinstallation of the stop logs (if removed). MRC intends to only lower the water level to that level it deems necessary to protect the integrity of the dam based upon the projected path of the hurricane and anticipated rainfall amounts."
